October Favorites 2010

As I have mentioned on some of my previous posts, October has been one of the most hectic months of my life! Between dance, school, college applications, friends and family, I am completely swamped. But I can see the light up ahead! This weekend I had the photoshoot for my dance company's poster for our show! It was a ton of fun. I have been looking forward to that day for many years. I can't wait to see how it turned out! And of course Halloween (aka my favorite holiday)! Who doesn't love dressing up and going crazy!? To school on Friday I was Dorothy with my best friend and last night I improved a Ke$ha costume.

Some of my favorite things from October include:
1. Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation

See my entire post on it: http://underthefluorescents.blogspot.com/2010/10/outfits-from-week-and-giorgio-armani.html
2. Free People
Free People has always been my favorite brand. However, recently I have re-fallen in love with it! The Kitten collection and the Holiday collection are absolutely stunning.
3. Forever 21
In the past I have not enjoyed what Forever 21 has to offer during the Fall and Winter seasons. This year though, I have been loving the collection and variety of styles that they are providing. The feature of the fashion bloggers was also a plus!
4. School Spirit
My school is rather pathetic when it comes to school spirit. No one really goes to support sports teams and participate in school activities. But somehow this school year, my school has been oozing school spirit and I could not be more happy. I have Homecoming next weekend and I can't wait!
5. MAC
It's no secret that I have an odd obsession with makeup, more specifically MAC makeup. I am not going to pretend like I don't ho on their website everyday and pick out everything I want or that I can't name you the name of an eyeshadow without looking at the bottom. My favorite product from MAC this month is actually my first ever purchase from MAC (with my own money), which is Revenge is Sweet Lipglass from the Disney Venomous Villains collection. On Friday, my secret buddy for dance gave me a $20 MAC gift card! Yay! I can't wait to choose something to buy.
6. OPI Burlesque Collection
My favorite nail polish brand of all time is OPI and I am obsessed with their collections! When I first started my blog I did a post about the Fall/Winter Swiss 2010 collection. Unfortunately, I have still not purchased anything from that collection. However, I can barely wait to get my hands on some of the Burlesque colors! Anyone that knows me is well aware that I have a guilty pleasure for all things sequins or glitter. Well... OPI+glitter+collection+me= Love! My favorites are Sparkle-icious and Tease-y Does It. I might do an entire post on this collection soon!

What are your favorite things from October? What should I buy from MAC? Let me know in the comments!

Free People is so lovely

I've always been the typical California girl. Blonde, always at the beach, obsessed with summer and sun. However, ever since the weather has been starting to get a bit colder, I have been obsessed with fall and winter and the holidays. The entire essence and feeling of everyone being excited to celebrate together and share gifts is so thrilling! Not to mention the amazing fashion!
Today, I received the Free People Holiday 2010 catalog and I fell in love with absolutely every single individual item that graced its lovely paper pages. I even made my mom go through it with me for a sixth time. I see lace, layers, boots, embellishments and jewels, satin, black, red, gray/blue, white, and a Victorian vibe (props Romi for foreseeing that trend!)

Outfits from the Week and Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation

"They" were not kidding when they said that October is the toughest month of Senior year. I am not quiet sure who "they" applies to, but "they" were correct. I am overwhelmed with college applications, trying to keep decent grades, choreographing my first real piece in dance, attempting to update my blog, trying to have a social life, and taking some time to myself to just breathe.
So recently my skin has not been my friend. Over the past five years my skin has flip flopped from decently flawless to a before picture for a Proactive commercial. I have tried everything there is to do and I am finally going back to the dermotologist on Tuesday. In the mean time, I decided to invest in a high quality foundation to help me out. Anyone who knows my shopping ethics is aware that I always try to get the best (cheapest) price possible. However, my mom always insists that it is worth it to invest in high quality possessions. So as much as I hate to admit, I listened to her on this one. Your face is the first thing that someone notices about you, might as well invest in it! Yesterday I headed over to Neiman Marcus and tried on about four different foundations. After spending about an hour analyzing each one, the sales lady, my mom and I decided on one we all agreed looked the best. Despite the steep price I am glad that I finally found a foundation that actually works instead of spending less money on mediocre foundations. The foundation we decided on was the Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation with SPF 20.

Wish me luck when I try it tomorrow!
And I found five minutes to take a few snap shots before school this week so here are two outfit of the days!

What is your favorite foundation? Let me know in the comments!

10-10-10! OOTD & Kate Hudson

Happy 10-10-10 everyone! Today I did some community service with my friends and now I have to start some homework and do some college applications. Fun fun! Here is what I wore today:

I also found this cover for Elle with Kate Hudson and I became obsessed with it. I love her outfit, the setting, her hair, everything about it!

Forever 21 and Free People Haul!

Earlier today I went on a shopping trip to reward myself for taking the SATs this morning! Let's all hope that this is the last time I have to take them. Anyway, I was rather successful at Forever 21. I also included the two Free People pieces I purchased last weekend. So here we go!

Free People Navy Lace Slip
I would wear another slip under this to be able to wear it as a dress. Isn't it cute?!

Forever 21 Black Lace Shirt with Puffed Sleeves

Forever 21 Blue Knit Short Sleeve Chunky Sweater

Free People Salmon Pink Lace Skirt
In the photo the skirt looks more orange but in person it is pink

Forever 21 Body-con skirt in Navy
Although the tag says navy I think it is more purple.

Forever 21 Burgundy Lace Tights

Forever 21 Silver Pyramid Chain Necklace

What do you think of my haul? I'm so excited about it. Leave a comment letting me know!

Weekend Haul

Today I got a few beauty goods and yesterday I got some Free People finds. The Free People items will be pictured in a future post.

MAC Disney Venemous Villians Lipglass in Revenge is Sweet
Is it sad that this is my first MAC purchase ever?! All my MAC products have been gifts. Lucky girl! I love this lipglass I am so happy I purchased it. It is described as a light yellow purple, but it comes off very purple berry on my lips. Perfect for everyday fall.

I hit up the drugstore and picked up this Wet n Wild lipstick in 519 A, which is a bright red. Is it sad, once again, that I don't own a red lipstick? I am so deprived as a girl! It was only 99 cents so I said what the heck.

Last but not least I finally decided to buy a gel eyeliner. Every time I go to the drugstore I always put it in my hand but never actually purchase it because of the higher price. Being in the buying mood today, I decided it was time and I don't regret it. I came home to try it out and I love everything about it!

What do you think about the makeup haul? Enjoy? Leave a comment letting me know!

AJ Michalka

Did you guys ever listen to Aly & AJ a few years back? I did, and they were one of my favorite bands... if you can call that a band. Fast forward a few years and now the sister duo have a new band called 78violet and they are breaking into the television and movie industry. Earlier this week AJ was spotted at the Secretariat premiere in a stunning alice+olivia gold sequins dress with nude heels and old Hollywood inspired makeup and hair. I love the entire look!

What do you guys think of this look? Leave a comment letting me know!
