The Emmys Best Dressed 2010

Award shows are my absolute favorite events to watch on television! The main part I look forward too though is seeing who wears what of course! I don't really even know half the shows or movies that they talk about. This year on the red carpet the biggest trends were navy and embellishments. This wasn't particularly my favorite selection of dresses but it wasn't the worst. Personally, I preferred the more simpler gowns. Don't kill me, but I didn't love Lea Michele's dress! Anyway, here are some that I did like...

Claire Dance Hugh Dancy in an Armani Prive champagne colored dress with embellishments all over. This was most likely my favorite look of the night. If you haven't noticed by now I look all that glitters! Overall this look is just classy.

I'm not going to pretend like I ever heard of Eva Sarandon or her mother, Susan Saradon, but I fell in love with her dress! It reminds me of the prom dress I always dreamed about. I think light pink looks so good on blondes!

Nina Dobrev looked absolutely stunning in a Zuhair Murad gown! It was so flattering and classic, but I just wish that I could cut off the ruffling material on the left hip. I'll get over myself though because she looks exquisite!

Glee's Jayma Mays dons a Burberry gown with Jimmy Choo "Zena" platforms. Jayma was my favorite navy gown of the night. The cut was flattering and the material wasn't over the tip. Kudos!

Maria Menunos follows the embellishment trend in a Ralph & Russo dress with Jimmy Choo "Kenzie" heels. I loved the back!

Last but certainly not least, Heidi Klum in a Marchesa dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry! She just never fails to be fabulous! I mean look at those gams!

What do you think of these red carpet hits? Love them or hate them? Leave a comment letting me know!

OOTD & New MAC wants

Currently Listening: Rude Boy- Rihanna

Hey everyone! Today I had another B.P Fashion Board meeting which was a lot of fun! I had some extra time before the meeting so of course I headed over to the makeup department to check out a lipstick I have been wanting to try. The nice lady at the counter helped me find it and applied it with a lip liner and a gloss on top. Well, I can say that I love it! The color is by MAC, Captive, is a satin finish so it is not super opaque. It is the perfect plum/berry shade for my skin tone and it would be perfect to wear all fall and winter! However, I did not purchase it today because I was almost late for my meeting!

When I got home the newest People magazine was awaiting me. So as my camera loaded today's outfit on to my computer I found a makeup look that a simply fell i love with!

It is absolutely perfect for fall and makes blue or green eyes pop! The eyeshadow used is MAC's Cranberry.
And of course here is the OTTD!

(sorry for the weird coloring)

What do you guys think of Captivating and Cranberry? Love them? Like OTTDs? Leave a comment letting me know!

UO's Fall Top 10 Trends

Currently Listening: Each Coming Night- Iron and Wine

Varsity, Surplus, Heritage Shoes, Corduroy, Pony Hair, Long Dresses & Skirts, High Platforms, Double fingered rings, and Oversized. These are all Urban Outfitters' top 10 Fall trends. One of the trends, Pony Hair, caught be completely off guard, but others such as Varsity and Surplus I have seen featured in many September issues. Corduroy has made its annual appearance and soon after Fall ends it will go back into hiding for another year. As for long dresses and skirts this gives summer's attempted trend another and more appropriate time to appeal to the public. Personally I am a fan of long dresses and skirts but unfortunately my petite frame looks overwhelmed and awkward in both of these trends. High platforms, Double fingered rings, and Oversized have all been reappearing season after season for almost the past year, they don't look like they are going anywhere anytime soon. Lastly, Heritage Shoes known as the "indie kids kicks" have been fairly popular for the past year or so and as long as people "think" they are "indie" they will continue to sport these trendy shoes. Without further adieu...

Agree or disagree with UO's forecast? Would you wear any of these trends? Any you wouldn't wear? Let me know in the comments!

21 from Forever 21

Currently Listening: Shooting the Moon- Ok Go

I have a confession, I have been slightly obsessed with Forever 21. I know that I am not alone on this one because Forever 21 has been killing it this past month. Honestly, everyday I go on their website and find at least five new things that I am dying to have! The fact that I did another want list from Forever 21 barely five days ago says something because today I have 21 new must haves with no repeats! Yesterday I wrote an entire college app essay, first draft of course, but regardless I was so proud of myself for knocking it out of the park. Anyways, I might be going to Forever 21 either today or sometime this weekend because I have to pick up a gift for my friend's birthday and it is going to be really really really hard not to even try on something for myself. I am saving all my money for the shopping trip I am taking the day after my birthday!

See anything that you are going to add to your must have list? Let me know in the comments!

Fall 2010 Lipstick Trends

Currently Listening: Mason Jar- The Morning Benders

Until recently I have never been a fan of putting anything besides Aquaphor on my lips. I used to hate the stickiness of lipglosses and the dryness of lipsticks. However, a few months ago I discovered a really cool concept on Sephora.com called a lipstain. Yes, I am aware that Sephora did not invent lipstains and that lipstains have been around for centuries, but they were a new concept to me. The specific lipstain that i purchased was the Tarte Natural Lip Stain in Charmed. I thought I was all that and a bag of chips walking into Sephora with my baby-sitting money to buy this eco-friendly product that claims to increase moisture by 6,000%! Personally, I do not think it increases moisture by 6,000%, but hey it still is good for the environment and i love the color! Anyways, after becoming obsessed with my lipstain I began to venture out to other lip products. I then started to use lipsticks, lip jellies, lip balms, and even some lip glosses! This Fall on the runways I have been drawn towards the dark berry lips or the classic red lip, even the nude ones. Below are some of the lipstick shades that stood out to me this coming season.

MAC Kittenish (Cremesheen) deep berry red $14.50
-comes out later this month in the Feline Collection

MAC To Pamper (Lustre) creamy mid-tone taupe $14.50
-also from the Feline Collection

MAC Dark Deed $15
-comes out in the end of September in the Disney Villains Collection

MAC Heartless (on the left) and Innocence, Beware! (on the right) $15
-also from the Disney Villains Collection

NARS Fast Ride $24

NARS Jungle Red $24

Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Lipstick in Moulin Rouge
-could not find price

There you have it! Although some of these shades are similar, I admire them for different reasons. I think if I had to pick one as my favorite I would choose MAC's Kittenish. The shade is perfect for Fall and it has my favorite cremesheen finish.

What are your favorite lipsticks for this fall? Do you dare to rock the dark lip? Leave a comment letting me know!

Forever Love Forever!

Currently Listening: Teenage Dream- Katy Perry

What more can you ask for from Forever 21? They are inexpensive, extremely on point with trends, and they have new clothes and accessories coming out daily! Their newest batch has got me going crazy! I want it all! But of course I promised myself that I wouldn't shop until the Labor Day Sales/I'm-going-to-the-outlets-the-day-after-my-birthday-so-I-can-use-my-birthday-money-to-buy-what-I-want! So sadly I know that by the time my birthday rolls around all of the things in this post will most likely be gone :(. Oh well, hopefully there will be even better merchandise when that time comes! Btw... kind of obsessed with "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry right now, even though it's super mainstream and always on the radio.

Urban Outfitters Early Fall 2010

Currently Listening: The Water- Feist

As much as I have an extremely overwhelming love for all things about summer, I might have to admit that a small tiny percentage of me is excited for fall. But only because of the fashion! Although I hated on Urban Outfitters back in my $5 Sale post, I am glad to say that I am very pleased with their Early Fall Catalog. They include all of the trends that have caught my eye this season as well as some new ones that I have never even seen! On the down side, the mass majority of what I like is wayyyy out of my budget. But oh well, at least they are easy on the eyes!

What are your fall must haves? Love or hate the UO Early Fall Catalog? Leave a comment letting me know!

Brian Lichtenberg for Forever 21

Currently Listening: Inertia Creeps- Massive Attack

Tons of celebrities from Lady Gaga to Beyonce, Rihanna to Kim Kardashian have all been spotted wearing designs by Brian Lichtenberg. Mostly known for his beyond fantabulous dresses, Brian Lichtenberg has even been named the "new Herve Leger". Ya, he's that amazing. My favorite dress of his is this glittery silver hooded mini dress that I can die for.

Tell me that isn't the most stunning dress you have ever seen?! Well when I heard that the great Brian Lichtenberg was designing a line for Forever 21, I was ecstatic! However, when I actually saw a preview of the line, I was slightly disappointed. I should have assumed that considering Forever 21's inexpensive price range they wouldn't be able to recreate some of his beautiful dresses, but I expected a little something more than just some t-shirts and tank tops. (Only the t-shirts and tank tops are by Brian Lichtenberg, all jewelry, shoes, skirts, and pants were only included for styling purposes)

What do you think of Brian Lichtenberg for Forever 21? Excited for disappointed? Leave and comment letting me know!

The Color is Orange!

Currently Listening: As Far As I Can See- Phantogram

The "it" color this autumn is orange! It seems to be the one of the only colors to pop up on the runway this season contrasted against all the blacks and dark colors. First spotted on the Prada model's lips orange began to spread throughout other designer's runways as well. Orange has never been my favorite color to wear, as it is unflattering on my skin tone. Ironically, orange is one of my favorite colors! I love how unexpected it is and it really stands out from everything else. Here are some ideas to incorporate orange into your wardrobe this fall!
